Some days I wake up and I am just really upset. I don't want to get up, my back hurts and I am tired of working. But then I start to think about the things in my life that I am grateful for. I am really lucky. I live in an awesome city, I am healthy, I have people that love me in my life, and I love them. I love what I do for a living and generally I think that with each day that goes by life gets a little bit better. Once I start to change my mindset my whole attitude gets better and so does my day. I have more energy, I am more focused and I get more stuff done.
It is really easy to be negative. Its harder to stay positive. I have heard for every 10,000 negative things we are exposed to on a daily basis we only see one positive thing. The media does a great job of making us think that the world is coming to an end. The market does a good job of making us doubt ourselves as well. The only way I have found to counteract the negativity each day as well as the adversity the market brings is to think about the things I am grateful for. Once I do that I realize that I do have it good and that I can change anything I want in my life.
There should be more emphasis on self-awareness, positive mindset, and just being grateful for what you have in life. I went to college for 5 years and I don't think there was ever a class on mindset. I think it is totally underrated for getting what you want in life, and if you want to achieve your goals it is absolutely critical to work on your mindset every day. So go out there and be grateful for what you have, and if you don't have what you want, figure out a way to get it.
